Teaching Assistant – Enhanced Resource Base (SEMH)

Location: Cambridge

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Enhanced Resource Base, supporting pupils who require additional support with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference and helping children feel supported, confident and successful in school.

The role will include:

Supporting pupils within the Enhanced Resource Base

Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Helping pupils engage with learning and school routines

Working alongside teachers and other support staff

Providing support in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Confidence managing behaviour in a positive and supportive way

A genuine passion for supporting children’s development

Experience in an SEMH, specialist or resource base setting would be highly desirable, although transferable experience will be considered.
