An established and growing managed technology solutions provider is looking for an ambitious Business Development Account Manager to join its Northampton-based team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing long-term client relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and delivering tailored technology solutions that help businesses operate more efficiently.
The company partners with organisations across a wide range of sectors, delivering a comprehensive portfolio of managed IT services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, networking, connectivity, communications, and business technology support. With a strong focus on customer service and long-term partnerships, you'll play a key role in driving account growth while ensuring clients receive exceptional ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts.
Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive business development.
Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and become the primary point of contact.
Understand customers' commercial objectives and recommend tailored managed IT and technology solutions.
Prepare quotations, proposals, and service agreements.
Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to maximise profitability.
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline activity.
Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Monitor customer satisfaction, proactively resolve issues, and identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell services.
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales, revenue, and retention targets.
Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity.About You
2–3 years' experience in B2B account management, business development, or solution sales.
A proven track record of growing customer accounts and generating new business.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify customer needs and provide consultative solutions.
Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
Full UK driving licence preferred.Desirable Experience
Experience within Managed IT Services, MSP, telecommunications, cloud services, cybersecurity, or technology solutions.
Knowledge of managed infrastructure, connectivity, networking, or business communications.
Experience selling consultative, solution-based services.
