Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in South Leeds that is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant - SEND Support to join their team from September.
This is a long term position expected to last at least 2 terms, supporting targeted SEND pupils across both key stage 1 and key stage 2. This school has a supportive leadership team and is committed to providing the best outcomes for every child.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant you will:
Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities across key stage 1 and key stage 2
Work closely with class teachers and SENDCo to deliver targeted interventions
Build positive relationships that help pupils develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
Adapt supportive strategies to meet individual learning needs and promote pupil progressTo be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:
Have previous experience supporting children with SEND within a primary school setting
Have experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, lower ability, EAL, SEMH
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
Have excellent communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach
