Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: London, West Malling, Sittingbourne (multi-site)

Overview

We are working with a growing contractor to recruit a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial function across multiple live sites. Reporting directly to the Commercial Lead, this role will assist with the day-to-day commercial management of projects, with a particular focus on procurement, subcontractor administration, and payment processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop their commercial knowledge within a supportive environment, gaining exposure to wider commercial reporting and business operations over time.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with procurement activities across 3–4 concurrent sites

Prepare and issue subcontractor enquiries and support package evaluations

*

Support the administration of subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, and final accounts

*

Assist with managing and processing payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

*

Maintain cost tracking information and support project financial control

*

Provide support to the Commercial Lead with reporting and forecasting tasks

*

Liaise with site teams to ensure commercial activities align with project delivery

*

Utilise Excel and Construction Manager (Eque2) for reporting and cost management

Hands-on position focused on supporting daily commercial operations

Requirements

*

Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or commercial support role within construction

*

Basic understanding of procurement and subcontractor management

*

Competent in Excel; experience with Eque2 (Construction Manager) advantageous

*

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

*

Eager to learn and develop within a commercial environment
