A friendly and supportive Day Centre is looking for confident, enthusiastic Play Workers to join their dedicated team. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with learning disabilities during Saturday sessions and school holiday programmes, helping them to access fun, engaging activities in a safe and inclusive environment. The role requires flexibility and an ability to work as part of a caring team.
You will support the planning and delivery of centre and community-based activities that promote independence, social skills, confidence, and wellbeing. You will help create positive experiences for children and young people while ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times.
Duties include:
* Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities during Saturday sessions and school holiday programmes.
* Assisting with the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities within the centre and the local community.
* Encouraging independence, communication, and social interaction.
* Ensuring activities and environments are safe, engaging, and inclusive.
* Providing personal care and support where required.
* Working closely with colleagues and families to deliver high-quality care and support.
Requirements:
* MUST have experience supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities.
* MUST have at least 1 year's UK experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
* MUST be happy to provide personal care.
* Have a good level of English (written and verbal).
* MUST be flexible and reliable.
* MUST hold a DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
If you have a DBS that is registered with the online Update Service, we can offer work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years' references and either have all mandatory training in date or be prepared to complete this prior to starting your assignment
