Job Description - Teacher of Physical Education (PE)
Job Title: Teacher of Physical Education (PE)
Responsible to: Head of PE
Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality PE lessons that inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of sport while promoting healthy lifestyles across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
Assess and monitor student progress, providing effective feedback.
Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Organise and support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and school competitions.
Contribute to curriculum development and work collaboratively within the PE department.
Promote safeguarding, equality, and student wellbeing at all times.
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to raising student achievement and participation in sport.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
