Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner

Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to: CFO

About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner to join a fast-growing business and play a critical role in driving performance, supporting strategic decisions, and improving commercial outcomes across multiple departments.

Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you will provide insight, challenge, and direction across Sales, Marketing, Events and Customer teams. This is a highly visible position with a clear progression path to Head of Commercial Finance / Commercial Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

You will act as a true business partner, embedding yourself within operational teams to understand performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvement. The role combines commercial analysis, financial planning, and strategic support.

Your responsibilities will include analysing sales and marketing performance, evaluating revenue and margin trends, and developing models around LTV, CAC and return on investment. You will support pricing and incentive structures, assess event profitability, and deliver scenario modelling to inform decision-making.

Alongside this, you will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and reporting, including board packs and KPI dashboards. A key focus will be improving data visibility by automating reporting processes, using SQL to interrogate data, and developing scalable dashboards and insights.

You will also contribute to strategic initiatives such as new product launches, investment decisions and M&A activity, while mentoring junior team members and influencing senior stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering within a fast-paced environment.

You will have advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, experience working with large data sets (including SQL), and a proven ability to translate analysis into clear, actionable insight. Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness are essential.

Desirable Experience

Experience in SaaS, events, education or high-volume sales environments would be beneficial, along with exposure to CRM systems (such as HubSpot or Salesforce), BI tools, or M&A activity.

What’s on Offer

This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making, alongside genuine progression to Commercial Finance Director. You’ll join a high-growth business where finance plays a key role in driving performance, with a competitive salary and bonus package.
