We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business that continues to invest in its people, technology and future growth. Due to increasing workloads, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller to join a skilled machining team on a permanent days-based shift.
This role would suit a capable CNC Miller who can confidently set and operate CNC milling machines with minimal supervision and takes pride in producing high-quality precision components.
CNC Miller – Setter/Operator Role
As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision-engineered components to drawing specifications. You will work closely with the wider engineering team to ensure quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC milling machines independently.
* Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
* Work with production and engineering teams to prove out new jobs.
* Select appropriate tooling and make adjustments to optimise machining processes.
* Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet specification.
* Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality and manufacturing efficiency.
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Requirements
Essential
* Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
* Strong background in 3-axis CNC milling.
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Good understanding of tooling, cutting data and engineering materials.
* Experience producing precision-machined components, including close-tolerance work.
* Comfortable machining medium to larger-sized components.
Desirable
* On-machine programming experience using FANUC controls.
* Experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines.

* £40,000-£45,000 Per Annum DOE
* Days-based role start and finish times.
* Overtime and weekend work available.
