Product Approvals Engineer

Kent (Hybrid working available)

Permanent, full-time hours

£50-55k depending on knowledge and experience

Our client is a leading global brands company offering high-end fixtures and fittings for bathrooms, washrooms and kitchens, both domestic and commercial. The Product Compliance Engineer is responsible for enabling the successful commercialisation of products in various markets within the EMEAA region by ensuring products comply with legal requirements and specified product certifications.

The role includes collaboration with product engineering teams in material selections, design analysis, and performance verifications necessary to meet product certification requirements, for example for UKCA or CE Marking. You will also be responsible for obtaining 3rd party test reports and product certifications by assembling, creating, and submitting necessary compliance documentation to third party test houses, listing partners and government agencies in the EMEAA region.

You must have the ability to develop subject matter expertise of product standards, codes, and regional legal requirements for sale and installation of a range of mechanical and electromechanical products across EMEAA markets.

Candidate

Engineering or Science degree or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience to include experience in product approvals and/or application of codes and standards and happiest in a fast paced environment.

Knowledge of British Standard / UKCA / CE Marking of products, LVD, EMC, RED, ErP, REACH, RoHs, WEEE, UK PSTI, EU Cyber Resilience Act.

Knowledge and understanding of the Water Supply Regulations and Water Regulations Approval Scheme (WRAS) within the UK and the Drinking Water Directive (DWD) in the EU would be an advantage.

Able to read product design drawings and technical documentation, with good working knowledge of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical design.

Confident and credible knowledge of product compliance regulations and standards

Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with a solutions-focused mindset

Strong communication skills with experience in presenting and translating data into decision-ready insights.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Demonstrated passion for learning, adoption of new technology, and independent decision making.

Must possess excellent organisational and multi-tasking, be able to deal with competing/fluctuating priorities; be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.
