Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Northampton
Hours of work: Some flexibility- Mon to Fri 07:00-16:00/ 08:00-17:00/ 09:00-18:00
Salary: £42,000-£55,000 depending on experience
Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and well-established business based in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS looking to develop their career while working on a range of exciting construction and infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial performance of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
Monitoring costs and reporting on financial performance
Supporting subcontractor procurement, tendering, and negotiations
Preparing and assessing interim valuations and payments
Managing subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts
Assisting with contract administration (JCT / NEC)
Liaising closely with site teams, project managers, and senior commercial staff
What we are looking for
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the UK construction sector
Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Confident communicator with solid negotiation skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
