Role: Transport Administrator

Location :Leicester

Hours: Full Time - Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

What will you be doing?

Providing administrative support to the transport and operations team.
Scheduling and coordinating vehicle movements to ensure timely collections and deliveries.
Liaising with drivers, customers, warehouses, and third-party hauliers to communicate transport updates.
Processing transport documentation, including delivery notes, manifests, PODs (Proofs of Delivery), and customs-related paperwork where required.
Monitoring vehicle schedules and tracking shipments to ensure service levels are met.
Updating transport management systems with accurate shipment and delivery information.
Assisting with route planning and load scheduling to maximise efficiency.
Managing driver records, compliance documentation, and vehicle-related paperwork.
Handling customer enquiries and resolving transport-related issues in a professional manner.
Producing reports and maintaining accurate transport and operational records.
Supporting the wider freight forwarding team with general administrative duties as required.Experience/qualifications required:

Previous experience in a transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or administrative role.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Experience using transport management systems (TMS) or logistics software is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing documentation.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of freight forwarding, customs procedures, or transport compliance would be beneficial.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; additional logistics qualifications are advantageous.Benefits
