Cost Analyst
Location: Stroud
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities of a Cost Analyst:
* Develop and maintain cost models and pricing structures to support tenders and sales opportunities.
* Carry out costing, pricing and margin analysis across bids and proposals.
* Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations for materials, components and services.
* Identify commercial risks, assumptions and opportunities within cost submissions.
* Support procurement strategies aligned to commercial and operational objectives.
* Analyse historical pricing, cost data and win/loss information to improve future performance.
* Provide insight into pricing strategies, discount structures and commercial decision-making.
* Maintain accurate costing records, documentation and approval trails.
* Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning and Finance teams.
* Support continuous improvement of costing tools, templates and commercial processes.
Key Skills of a Cost Analyst:
* Previous experience in a costing, pricing, tendering or commercial role.
* Strong understanding of cost structures, pricing models and margin analysis.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with complex spreadsheets.
* Experience using CRM systems and sales data.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage commercially sensitive information with discretion.
* Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or project-based environments would be advantageous
