Role: Service Engineer
Location: Field-based (UK-wide travel required)
Hours: Full Time Permanent
Salary: £50,000 -£55,000
What will you be doing?
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on cloth pile filtration systems.
Replacing filter cloths and overhauling drive mechanisms, pumps, valves, and backwash systems.
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on-site, including work with control panels, low-voltage systems, instrumentation, and basic PLC interrogation.
Monitoring and optimising filter performance, including solids loading, backwash frequency, and effluent quality.
Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new filtration assets.
Delivering training and handovers to client operators.
Completing digital service reports detailing work completed, parts used, and recommendations for clients.
Acting as the main on-site representative, ensuring systems operate efficiently and comply with environmental standards.Experience/qualifications required:
Strong multi-skilled engineering background covering mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines.
Proven experience within the water/wastewater industry or heavy industrial process environments.
Direct experience with cloth pile or disc filters is highly advantageous.
Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
Electrical qualification such as 18th Edition is highly desirable.
Confined Space Training and CSCS/EUSR card preferred (training can be provided).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight.Benefits
