Mentor- Behavioural and SEMH
Location: Bromley
Hours: Part‑time
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Start Date: ASAPThe focus of this role is to re‑engage young people with learning, build emotional resilience, and develop essential functional and life skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver bespoke intervention sessions that support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and re‑engagement
Build a consistent, trusting relationship with the young person
Implement self‑regulation strategies and promote positive behaviour and confidence
Collaborate with families and professionals to ensure cohesive support
Track and report progress in both emotional development and engagementRequirements
Experience with SEMH or similar behavioural/emotional needs
Ability to build rapport quickly and create a safe learning space
Calm, nurturing, patient approach to managing behaviour and emotional dysregulation
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain oneDesirable Experience
Youth work or PRU background
Training in de‑escalation (Team Teach, MAPA, etc.)
Knowledge of restorative practice and trauma‑informed approachesProspero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children
