Senior Quantity Surveying role for Tier One Main Contractor working on major rail frameworks across London & South East. This is an exciting opportunity for Quantity Surveyors who have achieved sustained success within a civil engineering environment, especially rail infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
* Take full accountability for the financial and contractual performance of your projects.
* Manage the Supply Chain effectively, building trusted partnerships with our suppliers.
* Monitor the progress of works and report on project performance.
* Ensure that the company and clients' assurance process, including all legislative, mandatory policies and procedures, are followed.
* Manage a small Quantity Surveying team, typically 1 or 2 people, ensuring effective 121's, PDP's and development plans are in place for any direct reports.
* Lead by example by engendering the company culture and that of its wider framework and Values.
Candidate Profile
* Extensive recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role, working on multiple projects valued between £1m - £10m.
* Ability to work independently without supervision
* Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration.
* Evidence of building effective relationships with teams.
* Demonstrable experience of coaching, mentoring and managing people.
* Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines.
* Experience in a civil engineering environment, with some knowledge of Rail infrastructure.
* Good level IT proficiency.
* Thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools.
* Understanding of Lean principles (desirable).
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience).
* Hold or working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body i.e. Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) (desirable)
