TXM Recruit are recruiting permanent Dual Skilled Mobile Fitters based in Westbury, Wiltshire.
Location: Westbury, Wiltshire with travel to Rugby and other sites.
Shifts: 6 week shift roster of days and afternoons including 2 weekends. No nights.
Salary: £41,000k
Benefits: The position comes with a van, fuel card, mobile phone and laptop. All vans are kitted out with tooling, PPE.
We are looking for individuals from a rail or rolling stock background predominantly however individuals from the following Industries considered: Rolling Stock / RAIL/ Royal Navy / RAF / REME / British Army/ General Engineering/Aerospace/Automotive / HGV Mechanics / Heavy Plant Fitters/ Dual Skilled Bus Fitters/ Dual Skilled PSV Fitters who have experience within the field of electrical and mechanical engineering and overhaul experience.
Purpose of The Role
To provide effective maintenance support for Rail Freight Locomotives whilst developing a broad range of engineering skills and competencies.
Key Role Accountabilities
Undertake scheduled maintenance activities at any approved maintenance location.
Undertake both electrical and mechanical repairs on both locomotives and rolling stock.
Carry out scheduled maintenance activities at approved maintenance locations in accordance with operational requirements.
Perform both electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on locomotives and rolling stock.
Conduct inspections, assessments, testing, and verification procedures to ensure rail freight assets and components meet required performance and safety standards.
Perform assessment and test procedures to ensure rail freight assets and or components are performing to required levels.
Maintain the necessary knowledge to operate safely and effectively in a railway environment.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, practices, and governance.
Work as directed by the relevant Team Leader and Production Manager.
Work within the boundaries of all relevant company policies, specifically, any Method of Work and Risk Assessments associated with the task at hand.
Possess and maintain a comprehensive understanding of maintenance documentation and ensure any completed documentation is both explicit and legible.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness at work sites operating environments and any necessary site maintenance / improvements when directed.
Carry out unsupervised maintenance activities.
The position comes with a van, fuel card, mobile phone and laptop. All vans are kitted out with tooling, PPE.

* The type of Train you will be working on is an RHTT (Rail Head Treatment Train) which is a specialized engineering train deployed by UK operators during autumn to clear slippery leaf residue from tracks. It prevents train wheel slips, delays, and signalling failures by blasting rails with high-pressure water and applying sandite/adhesion gel
SHEQ Responsibilities
