Influence how major infrastructure projects are shaped - before they even break ground.

Join a newly formed commercial team where your work directly impacts how projects are costed, structured, and approved at the earliest stages.

About the Opportunity

This role sits within a growing development function responsible for overseeing a large portfolio of infrastructure projects during their feasibility and early planning phases.

Help build and shape new commercial processes and controls
Work in a flexible, remote-first setup with strong autonomy
Develop your exposure to NEC contract environments, particularly cost-reimbursable models

Key Responsibilities

Assess and certify contractor applications and payments in line with NEC contracts
Review and challenge defined cost submissions to ensure commercial accuracy
Establish and maintain clear communication structures with contractors
Develop and manage Excel-based cost reporting across multiple projects
Monitor contractor performance, including programmes and compensation events
Manage commercial activity across 10-15 concurrent development-stage projects
Support the introduction of cost forecasting and reporting processes
Bring structure and consistency to an evolving and previously unstructured environment

Skills & Experience

Essential

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or similar
Working knowledge of NEC contracts (Option E preferred, A/C also relevant)
Proven ability to assess contractor applications and cost submissions
Confidence in challenging cost data and contractor outputs
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDesirable

Experience with cost-reimbursable / defined cost models
Exposure to contractor audits or cost validation activities
Experience building or improving cost reporting processes (Excel)
Background in early-stage / feasibility-phase project work
