Role Overview
RG Set Square are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee and deliver a high-quality construction project, with a strong focus on heritage and refurbishment works. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing site operations within the construction build sector and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Delivery
Manage all day-to-day site operations
Ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specification
Coordinate trades, labour, plant, and materials efficiently
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and manage site teams to ensure productivity and high standards
Supervise subcontractors and ensure performance meets contractual and quality expectations
Foster a positive and safety-focused site culture
Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
Deliver and enforce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Maintain accurate records of safety procedures and compliance
Communication & Briefings
Carry out toolbox talks, site inductions, and ongoing safety briefings
Act as the main point of contact on site for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Ensure clear and effective communication across all project teams
Quality Control
Maintain high-quality workmanship standards, particularly within sensitive heritage environments
Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and conservation requirements
Identify and rectify defects promptly
Subcontractor Management
Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities
Ensure subcontractors adhere to programme, quality, and safety standards
Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance
Essential Requirements
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - Valid
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card
First Aid at Work Certificate
Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction build sector
Strong background in heritage and refurbishment projects
Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working on listed buildings or conservation projects
Strong understanding of traditional building methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Personal Attributes
Proactive and self-motivated
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Professional and safety-conscious approach
Team-oriented with strong leadership capability
