We're supporting a well-established business in Wigston in their search for a reliable Maintenance Officer to join their team.

This Maintenance Officer role is varied, hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, solving problems and making sure buildings and facilities are safe, well maintained and running smoothly.

As a Maintenance Officer, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day upkeep of the site. You'll carry out general maintenance tasks, support basic repairs and help ensure the building and surrounding areas are clean, safe and compliant. You'll also assist with meeting room set-ups, move equipment where needed and respond to day-to-day maintenance and facilities requests across the business.

Key responsibilities of the Maintenance Officer role:

Carrying out general building maintenance and basic repair work
Ensuring internal and external areas are clean, safe and well maintained
Supporting with meeting room, furniture and equipment set-ups
Assisting with planned preventative maintenance and supporting external contractors on site
Monitoring maintenance supplies and reporting any repair requirements
Carrying out legionella checks and supporting water hygiene compliance
Following health and safety procedures at all times

The ideal Maintenance Officer will have:

A practical, hands-on approach to work
Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or building services role (desirable but not essential)
Experience carrying out legionella checks and an understanding of basic water hygiene compliance
Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude
A basic understanding of workplace health and safety
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
A willingness to support with a variety of maintenance and facilities tasks
