Workshop Vehicle Engineer (HGV Technician)
Day Shifts | Salary up to £54,000 + Overtime

Our client is a well-established business with a long-standing reputation for delivering first-class fleet solutions. Their commitment to high workshop standards plays a key role in ensuring exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a varied and diverse fleet. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a wide range of vehicles, including:

Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)
Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
Road sweepers
Hook loaders
Light commercial vehicles (vans)
Trailers and tippers
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Routine and preventative maintenance
MOT preparation
Servicing to DVSA standards
6- or 8-weekly safety inspections
Diagnosing and rectifying faults
Chassis and fabrication work
Working with hydraulics and pneumatics
Electrical diagnostics, wiring, and repairs
Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
About You
We welcome applications from both qualified and time-served technicians, as well as those looking to further develop their skills.

You will ideally have:

A recognised qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
A strong understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics
A proactive attitude and commitment to high-quality workmanship
Desirable (but not essential):

IRTEC accreditation
EV/Hybrid vehicle qualifications
HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
