Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 08:30-17:00

Location: Croydon, CR0 4XB

What you'll be doing;

Monitor and review all accident/incident investigations, working collaboratively with R&A
Reduce lost work hours due to sickness, accidents and injuries
Ensure vehicles are compliant with Road Transport Directive and fleet compliance, Working Time Regulations and Waste Regulations
Attend H&S meetings to report on current activity and make suggestions for improvements
Lead specific training sessions on areas of improvement identified
Improve turnaround times of refresher training, where required and mandatory, to remain compliant
Lead disciplinary and grievance process
Managing drivers, driver allocation, and holiday planning. Vehicle compliance/maintenance records / Operator Licence Compliance. Working closely with 2 operations managers
Working closely with the Workshop to ensure vehicle services and repairs meet agreed SLA's and attend monthly meetings
Problem-solving
What we're looking for;

Essential:

Previous experience of operating within an operational capacity with a focus on H&S within a similar industry
Strong and effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels
Ability to organise resources and manage labour to meet operational demands
Working with a quality management system e.g. ISO Managing transport fleet compliance
Experienced IT Skills
Good understanding of legal regulations e.g Road Haulage and Operations and Health and Safety at work
Desirable:

Proactively research upcoming legislation changes and remain up to date on activities and changes within our sector
Knowledge of the management of other waste management facilities
IOSH qualification.
CPC in road haulage
