Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to move into a leadership-focused role while maintaining a great work-life balance?
We are working with a leading food manufacturing business producing some of the UK's most recognised snack brands. The site is heavily invested in both its people and equipment, with a strong culture of continuous improvement, reliability and employee development.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Reliability Lead to join the engineering team on a permanent Monday to Friday days pattern. Working as part of the site leadership team, you will take ownership of a production area, ensuring robust maintenance processes are in place to maximise equipment reliability, reduce downtime and support operational performance.
This role would suit a Senior Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Team Leader, Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Lead who enjoys coaching others, driving improvements and working closely with production teams to deliver sustainable results.
Responsibilities of a Reliability Lead:
Lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities within your production area
Review equipment losses and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions to recurring issues
Drive maintenance performance through daily and weekly review meetings
Support and develop Autonomous Maintenance activities across production teams
Coach and develop colleagues to improve engineering and operational capability
Support capital projects and equipment improvement initiatives
Work closely with Operations and Production teams to deliver site performance targets
Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications of a Reliability Lead:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Engineering qualification
Strong maintenance engineering background within manufacturing environments
Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or automated production desirable
Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience leading continuous improvement activities
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of reliability techniques and root cause analysis
Ability to influence and develop others
