A global medical device company is looking for a Senior Scientist/Formulation Engineer to join their Research and Development team on a contract basis. We are looking for someone with R&D experience rather than product transfer experience. The role will require you to drive the formulation related work packages assigned. You'll be helping design the embolic element of the project for further development of drug-device combination products.

Essential Skills

• Polymer chemistry with emphasis on characterization techniques (eg, DSC, GPC, FT-IR, rheology, dissolution, etc.).
• Design and development of particulate and liquid embolic products.
• Experience formulating sustained-release systems, including hydrogel-based implants or depots.
• Development ofdrug-device combination products, especially:
  • Prefilled/pre-filled syringe systems
  • Embolization devices
• Proven history of parenteral product development, particularly sterile injectables.
• Complete CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls) development for drug products, including scale-up and tech transfer.
• Working knowledge of analytical methods for API and finished-product characterization (eg, HPLC/UPLC, GC, KF, particle size, viscosity) and data interpretation.

The start date is for ASAP but we can wait for the right person. The initial contract length is for 12 months, with multiple extension options after. The role is based in Limerick and will require 3-4 days onsite per week. The rate is €40-45 per hour, depending on experience, if you have any expenses please let me know and I can factor that into the rate for you.
