Full-Time
Our client, a high-growth quantum technology company, is seeking a Senior Physicist - Quantum RF to join their Quantum RF team. This role is pivotal to their continued success within the Defence & Security sector, focusing on the development of quantum sensing technologies for RF fields. You will be instrumental in translating advanced AMO physics concepts into scalable, commercial solutions.
They are interested in people at all levels of experience, and particularly those who want to utilise the physics research and to apply it to actual engineering projects that have significant value in niche markets, particularly in areas such as the minaturisation of larger technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and contribute to high-impact research projects in AMO physics and quantum RF sensing
Design, model, and optimise atomic systems to meet product requirements
Integrate opto-mechanical systems, electronics, and software into functioning quantum devices
Execute testing, validation, and system demonstrations

Job Requirements:
PhD in AMO Physics with substantial postdoctoral or industry experience
Strong expertise in atomic/quantum systems, ideally including Rydberg physics and RF electrometry
Proven experience manipulating atoms, ions, or molecules with light
Demonstrated ability to build and integrate complex experimental systems
Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, C++, Rust) and familiarity with design tools (Zemax, SolidWorks, Altium)
Prior exposure to defence, national labs (e.g., DSTL), or advanced research environments is beneficial
Evidence of innovation (e.g., patents) is advantageous
Benefits:
Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite / 2 remote
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge quantum sensing technologies
Collaborative and commercially focused environment
Support in professional development and career progression
If you are a highly skilled AMO physicist with a passion for quantum technologies and experience in RF sensing, we would love to hear from you.
