Managing Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Education / Healthcare) – North London

Salary/Package: £95,000 - £100,000 + Travel/Car Allowance, Private Medical, Pension, Discretionary Bonus, Annual Leave

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a well-established and highly respected main contractor who deliver complex new build and refurbishment projects across the education, healthcare and public sector markets throughout London and the Home Counties.

Due to a number of new opportunities in the area and an overall increase in demand in that region they are seeking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial delivery of multiple projects whilst supporting the wider commercial team. The role will initially be based from a satellite office in North London before progressing into a regional position overseeing schemes across North London and the surrounding Home Counties.

This opportunity would suit an established Managing Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a broader leadership role, with experience delivering projects from pre-contract through to final account within a reputable main contracting environment.

Role Overview

Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor
Sector: Education / Healthcare
Location: North London (Future projects across North London & Home Counties)
Salary: £100,000 + Package
Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
Type: Permanent
Responsibilities

Commercial oversight and management of multiple projects
Exposure to leading projects from £50m - £80m in value
Leading projects through the full commercial lifecycle from PCSA and pre-construction through to final account
Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team
Cost reporting, forecasting, budgeting and risk management across multiple schemes
Leading procurement strategies and subcontract package management
Supporting project teams with commercial advice, change management and contractual matters
Working closely with senior operational and pre-construction teams to ensure successful project delivery
Contributing to the overall commercial performance and profitability of the business unit
Requirements

Experience working as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within an established main contracting environment
Proven experience delivering projects through PCSA, pre-construction and the full project commercial lifecycle
Previous exposure to education, healthcare or other public sector projects would be highly advantageous
Experience overseeing large-scale projects typically ranging from £50m - £80m in value
Strong understanding of JCT contracts, procurement and subcontractor management
Excellent commercial, leadership and stakeholder management skills
Able and willing to travel across North London and the surrounding Home Counties as required
