Simply Education is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with our partner SEND schools in Sandbach. We work with schools that understand behaviour is communication, not just disruption. If you do too, we'd like to hear from you.

Flexible working, full-time, part-time or ad-hoc days to suit you

Daily supply, short-term and long-term placements
Temp-to-perm routes available for strong performers
FREE CPD covering a range of SEN-focused courses
Direct support from Josh, Branch Manager, one point of contact throughoutWhat the role involves:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs including anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties and emotional dysregulation
Delivering 1:1 and small group support in line with individual EHCPs and behaviour support plans
Using de-escalation strategies to help pupils regulate and re-engage
Building trusted, consistent relationships with young people who find school challenging
Working alongside class teachers, HOYs and pastoral leads
Following safeguarding procedures at all timesWhat we need from you:
Experience working with young people with SEMH needs in schools, residential care, youth work or similar
Calm, grounded and non-reactive under pressure
Understanding that behaviour is communication, and ability to respond accordingly
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Team Teach or equivalent de-escalation training is a bonus but not essentialWhat Simply Education Offers:
