Test & Commissioning Engineer
Location: East Yorkshire (Howden/Goole Area)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

The Opportunity
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Test & Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up of a newly constructed production facility in East Yorkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major capital project involving advanced process equipment and automation systems. The successful candidate will join a skilled engineering team responsible for the testing, commissioning, and early operational support of complex electro-mechanical equipment within a modern manufacturing environment.
The role would suit an engineer with strong fault-finding skills, commissioning experience, and a hands-on approach to solving technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsibilities will include:
Setting up, configuring, testing and commissioning electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
Carrying out electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic testing activities.
Completing insulation resistance (IR) testing, loop testing and earth bonding verification.
Using a variety of test equipment including multi-meters and other diagnostic tools.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.
Supporting installation, commissioning and maintenance activities as required.
Ensuring all test procedures, documentation and commissioning records are completed accurately and to a high standard.
Working collaboratively with engineering and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience within a testing, commissioning or electro-mechanical engineering environment.
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Experience using a range of electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and P&IDs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
Good understanding of low-voltage (LV) electrical systems.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Maintenance or a related Engineering discipline.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
HNC/HND in Engineering.
Site Safety Passport or equivalent.
Previous commissioning experience within manufacturing, automation, process, chemical or industrial environments.
