Rate: £350 - £450 per day (Umbrella PAYE, Inside IR35)
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility available

The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Engineer with strong civil, structural and infrastructure design capability to join a busy multidisciplinary engineering environment delivering both Permanent Works and Temporary Works across a wide range of infrastructure schemes.
Working across structures, highways and geotechnical disciplines, you will be responsible for delivering safe, practical and buildable engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
You will also play a key role in supporting tenders and bids, producing outline design and feasibility input, and developing innovative engineering solutions that improve buildability, value and project competitiveness.
This role offers exposure to a wide variety of infrastructure projects and the opportunity to take ownership of design packages within a collaborative and delivery-focused environment.
Key Requirements
·Level 6/7 qualification in Civil, Structural or related Engineering discipline
·Working towards professional qualification (ICE, IStructE or equivalent)
·Professional qualification (IEng, EngTech, CEng IPD) or equivalent experience considered
·Proven experience delivering civil, structural, MEICA or infrastructure engineering design
·Full UK driving licence
Desirable
·Experience with Network Rail, highways, rail or water sector standards
·Knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, WIMES or Minimum Asset Standards
·Exposure to water or wastewater treatment environments
·Previous M&E design experience (e.g. hydraulics, pump selection, MEICA interfaces)
Main Responsibilities
·Deliver Permanent Works and Temporary Works design across structures, highways, geotechnics and wider infrastructure projects
·Design safe, buildable and cost-effective engineering solutions from concept through to delivery
·Support tenders and bids through outline design, feasibility studies and buildable engineering concepts
·Develop alternative design solutions and value engineering proposals to improve project competitiveness
·Provide technical assurance of third-party designs, ensuring compliance with client and industry standards
·Identify, assess and manage technical risks across design, pricing and construction stages
·Undertake site visits, inspections and surveys, providing technical input and SHE advice
·Take ownership of design packages where required, including client liaison, programme input, workload planning and coordination of deliverables
