Production Process Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Production Process Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing electronics manufacturing business.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in electronics manufacturing to play a key role in driving process improvements, supporting production operations, and helping to deliver high-quality products to customers across a range of industries.
The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to optimise manufacturing processes, improve efficiencies, reduce waste, and support the introduction of new products into production.
The Role
As a Production Process Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing and improving manufacturing processes across the production environment. You will act as a key technical point of contact for production-related issues, helping to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams, ensuring manufacturing issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Lead investigations into process failures, quality concerns, and production bottlenecks, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement projects focused on yield improvement, waste reduction, cost savings, and increased throughput.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring products transition smoothly from design into manufacturing.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, SOPs, and engineering change documentation.
Work closely with Quality teams to address non-conformances, customer concerns, and internal quality issues.
Monitor manufacturing performance through KPIs and identify opportunities for process optimisation.Support the validation and implementation of new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet customer, quality, and business requirements.Experience Required
Previous experience working as a Production Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or similar role.
Experience within an electronics manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes associated with PCB assembly, SMT, electronics production, or electro-mechanical assembly.
Experience supporting production operations and driving process improvements.
Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
