Temp to Perm – 40k-52k
Monday to Friday – Days - Overtine
Aspion are seeking an experienced and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy maintenance team n the Wirral area. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of mechanical and electrical plant equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency, reliability, and safety across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery.
Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyors, feed hoppers, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Perform alignment, fitting, installation, and replacement of mechanical components.
Conduct welding and fabrication work as required for repairs and modifications.
Maintain plant equipment to a high standard in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Electrical Maintenance
Fault find and repair electrical systems and control panels.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on motors, sensors, drives, and control circuits.
Carry out routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
Maintenance Systems & Compliance
Accurately record maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records in a timely manner.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase plant reliability and efficiency.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a processing, recycling, quarrying, or industrial environment.
Strong experience maintaining and repairing:
Conveyors
Feed hoppers
Electric motors
Gearboxes
Bearings
Pumps and mechanical drive systems
Electrical control panels
Experience with plant fitting, machinery installation, and maintenance.
Competent welding and fabrication skills.
Experience using CMMS software to manage maintenance activities.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on both mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent engineering qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).
Welding certification (desirable).
FLT, MEWP, or confined space qualifications (advantageous).
