A well-regarded precision engineering business in Christchurch is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a team that takes real pride in the quality of its work. With a strong order book across aerospace, defence, motorsport, and medical sectors, there's plenty of interesting work to get your teeth into.
As a CNC Machinist, you will benefit from:
Up to £23 per hour depending on experience
Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00, Friday 07:30 to 12:30 (early finish Fridays)
185 hours holiday plus bank holidays
Work across a broad range of high-spec CNC machinery
Stable, long-established employer with a strong reputation in the industry
As a CNC Machinist, your responsibilities will include:
Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning and milling machines to produce precision components
Working across twin spindle, twin turret Nakamura lathes, single spindle Fanuc lathes, and 3, 4, and 5 axis Fanuc mills
Programming 5 axis Matsuura machines using Mastercam CAM software
Setting up jobs from scratch, pre-setting tooling, and completing first-off inspections
Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in line with customer and industry requirements
Reading and working from engineering drawings and job packs
As a CNC Machinist, your experience will include:
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision engineering or subcontract environment
Setting and operating experience on CNC lathes, with Fanuc controls (twin spindle preferred)
Setting and operating experience on CNC mills, 3, 4, or 5 axis
Fanuc programming ability (turning or milling)
Mastercam programming experience advantageous, particularly for 5 axis work on Matsuura machines
Experience working to tight tolerances in aerospace, defence, motorsport, or medical manufacturing
