Are you a technically driven Architectural Technician looking to take the next step into a senior role? A long-established, highly regarded architectural practice in Central Essex is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to become an integral part of their small but ambitious team. Known for their technical rigour and design quality, this is a practice where skilled Technicians are genuinely valued — not just support staff.
The studio's project portfolio is broad and rewarding, with a strong pipeline of work across residential architecture in Essex and beyond. From detailed technical packages for one-off private homes and barn conversions to the full-cycle delivery of medium-scale housing developments and select commercial projects, the scope of work on offer is exactly what a Senior Architectural Technician with ambition and technical depth will thrive in.
What You'll Be Doing
Taking projects through all stages from initial brief to completion, with full technical ownership
Producing detailed construction drawings and specifications
Running construction projects on site across all RIBA stages (1–7)
Attending new client meetings and playing an active role in business development and practice growth
Carrying out contract administration and site management on small to medium residential schemes
Working alongside the wider team, external consultants and clients to keep projects moving on programme and within budget
Contributing to design team meetings and client liaison throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 5 years' Architectural Technology experience gained within UK practice
Strong working knowledge of UK planning processes and building control requirements, particularly for domestic projects
Proven ability to deliver across all RIBA stages, including contract administration and site-based delivery
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD — both are essential
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you'll be client-facing and working closely with a small, collaborative team
A proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable taking on a broad range of responsibilities within a smaller studio setting
Valid UK driving licence
Full eligibility to work in the UK
