We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites across Southwest England, for the position of HGV Technician in Swindon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable team and develop their career within the motor trade industry. The HGV Technician role offers competitive remuneration and benefits, alongside ongoing training and development.
Benefits:
* Salary between £20-23 per hour, dependent on experience and shift pattern
* Rotating early and late shifts, Monday to Friday
* One in four Saturday mornings paid as overtime
* Optional overtime with time and a half payments
* 22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
* Private healthcare and company pension scheme
* Full manufacturer-approved training
* £500 tooling allowance
* Opportunity to undertake lucrative roadside call-out work
Duties:
* Complete all servicing and maintenance work to the highest standards within manufacturer timeframes
* Accurately diagnose faults and carry out repairs on heavy goods vehicles
* Provide technical support to colleagues and support workshop innovation
* Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
* Document diagnosis results, repairs, servicing, and safety inspections
* Participate in ongoing manufacturer training initiatives
* Support the workshop team in achieving productivity targets and customer satisfaction goals
Requirements:
* Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Several years’ post-qualification experience as a HGV Technician, demonstrating technical competence
* Strong diagnostic and repair skills in a busy HGV workshop
* Excellent team player with a committed and professional attitude
* Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
* An active HGV driving licence is advantageous but not essential
