Document Controller
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £40k - £50k + package (DOE)
We are currently looking for an experienced Document Controller, for a leading reputable principal contractor. With a strong pipeline of work and an excellent reputation for quality, safety, and delivery, they are now seeking a proactive and organised Document Controller to support their growing operations. Our client specialises in delivering civil engineering, demolition & remediation projects nationwide.
This position offers hybrid working; however, candidates must be within a commutable distance of Kent and able to attend the office a few days a week.
The Role
As the Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all project documentation, ensuring information is accurately controlled, distributed, and stored throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with project teams, site management, clients, and subcontractors, you will act as the central point of contact for document control and be trusted to take full ownership of the function.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all project documentation using Procore EDMS
Ensure document control procedures are followed across multiple projects
Upload, distribute, track, and archive project documentation
Maintain document registers and revision control processes
Coordinate the flow of technical drawings, specifications, reports, and QA documentation
Liaise with site teams, design consultants, subcontractors, and clients
Ensure documentation is issued accurately and within required timeframes
Support project teams with audits, compliance requirements, and document retrieval
Drive continuous improvement of document control processes and standards
About You
Previous experience in a Document Controller position within construction, civil engineering, demolition, infrastructure, or related sectors
Proven experience using Procore EDMS is essential
Strong understanding of document control processes and best practice
Experience managing large volumes of technical project documentation
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across project teams
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities
