Senior Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £15.00 per hour (Qualified) | £14.50 per hour (Unqualified)
Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours per week (174 hours per month)
About the Role
Resolve Recruitment Services are recruiting Senior Residential Childcare Workers on behalf of a residential childcare provider in Nottingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced childcare professionals looking to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in supporting the management team, leading by example, and helping to create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
– Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Residential Childcare Workers.
– Support the day-to-day running of the home alongside the management team.
– Assist with the implementation and review of individual care plans.
– Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through high-quality care and support.
– Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
– Monitor, record, and report on children’s progress, wellbeing, and development.
– Support behaviour management strategies and therapeutic interventions.
– Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
– Liaise with external professionals, agencies, and family members where appropriate.
– Promote a positive, collaborative, and child-centred culture within the home.
Requirements
– Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards) – Essential.
– Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare – Desirable.
– Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
– Experience supporting or mentoring staff within a care environment.
– Good understanding of child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
– Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
– Full UK Driving Licence – Essential.
