1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Primary Prep School (SW12)
September start date
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a primary prep school setting in SW12.
Role Overview
This role involves providing tailored, individual support to a pupil with ADHD and ASD who is currently finding it challenging to access the curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child re-engage with learning and build confidence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
Adapt tasks and teaching approaches to meet the pupil's needs
Support the pupil's focus, engagement, and emotional regulation
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies
Help the pupil gradually increase their participation and time in school
Pupil Needs
Diagnosed ADHD and ASD
Currently on a reduced timetable (10:00am - 1:00pm), with the aim of increasing this over time
Requires support with attention, transitions, and accessing learning
Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with SEN (especially ADHD and ASD)
Calm, patient, and proactive approach
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
Flexible and resilient, with a positive attitude
Background in education, psychology, or similar (desirable but not essential)
Must have Enhaced DBS
Working Hours
Initially 10:00am - 1:00pm, with potential to increase as the pupil's timetable expandsPlease email your cv to (url removed) if you are interseted
