Job Description

As an Activities Leader, you will support pupils through a range of engaging, practical and therapeutic activities designed to develop skills, confidence and positive relationships.

You will work closely with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), anxiety and barriers to mainstream education.

Responsibilities will include:

* Planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to individual needs

* Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, confidence and social development

* Supporting animal-based activities as part of the provision’s therapeutic offer

* Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, particularly ASD and SEMH

* A background in activities, outdoor learning, forest schools, animal care, farming, youth work or similar

* A calm, patient and nurturing approach

* The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people

* Experience supporting children who may display challenging behaviour or have barriers to learning

* A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential

* The ability to work flexibly and as part of a dedicated team

* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to the rural location)

Previous experience in alternative provision, specialist education or therapeutic settings would be highly desirable, but the right attitude and approach are equally valued.

Benefits

* Opportunity to secure a long-term position through a supply-to-permanent route or start directly on a permanent contract

* Supportive and welcoming specialist setting

* Rewarding role making a real difference to young people’s lives

* Working in a unique therapeutic environment with animals and outdoor learning opportunities

* Dedicated support from EduTalent throughout the recruitment process

* Opportunity for professional growth and development

* September start with the chance to become part of an established team

If you are passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to education and feel you could make a positive impact, we would love to hear from you
