ARP Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Primary School
Location: Lambeth (SW2), South London
Contract: Full-time / Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) within a welcoming primary school in Lambeth (SW2).
The ARP supports pupils with significant Special Educational Needs, and this role requires a confident and proactive individual with strong SEN experience who is comfortable supporting children with complex needs, including those requiring personal care.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact in a specialised, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils within the ARP provision with a range of high needs SEN
Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times
Assist with pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
Follow and implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
Support behaviour using structured, consistent and nurturing approaches
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and external professionalsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have
Strong experience working with SEN pupils (high needs/complex needs)
Confidence and willingness to support personal care needs
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
A genuine passion for inclusive education and SEN supportDesirable (but not essential)
Experience working within an ARP or specialist provision
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Training in Team Teach, PECS, Makaton or manual handlingWhat We Offer
