Maintenance Engineer
Annual Salary: Up to £46k plus 5% bonus
Location: Reading but with travel to Sailsbury Join a leading organisation in surgical instrument sterilisation as a Maintenance Engineer. This role is crucial in maintaining and repairing plant machinery to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention. Day-to-day of the role:
Maintain and repair all plant and machines to ensure continuous service provision.
Oversee the work of contract and service engineers.
Conduct weekly tests on sterilisers/washers in accordance with CfPP guidelines.
Communicate any changes in machine cycle profiles and maintenance needs to the National Maintenance Manager.
Ensure all machinery is serviced prior to quarterly and annual validation.
Schedule and facilitate yearly validation of plant equipment.
Ensure compliance with the Medical Devices Directive for all machinery and equipment.
Maintain validation/calibration certification required for MDD registration.
Manage spare parts and tools store, advising on stock level replenishment.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections as scheduled, supporting the quality management system.
Participate in an on-call rota and may require travel to other sites within the group.
Contribute to the team by suggesting innovations, continuous improvement, and best practices.
Engage in staff development and training initiatives.
Participate in the performance management system.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Apprentice-trained engineer or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience within Facilities or Manufacturing.
Mechanical or electrical training/qualification.
Full UK Driving License with a maximum of 3 points.Benefits
