Role: AI & Automation Engineer
Salary: £50,000 + package
Location: Leeds or Doncaster (Hybrid - will require travel to company sites)

Fruition are currently recruiting for an AI & Automation Engineer on behalf of a well-established FTSE250 organisation that is investing heavily in data, automation and AI technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing data team and play a key role in designing and delivering automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, decision making and business performance. Working closely with IT, Data and business stakeholders, you will help identify opportunities to automate processes, improve data accessibility and apply emerging AI technologies to real-world business challenges.

This role would suit someone with experience in automation, data integration or data engineering who is keen to develop their skills in AI, Microsoft Fabric and modern automation technologies within a supportive and hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support automation and AI-enabled solutions across the business.
  • Develop and maintain RPA, workflow automation and system integrations.
  • Build and consume APIs to connect systems and automate business processes.
  • Work with Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory and related technologies to support data and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and AI adoption.
  • Ensure solutions meet appropriate standards for data quality, governance and security.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of AI and automation capabilities across the organisation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with automation technologies, RPA or workflow automation tools.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data pipelines and system integrations.
  • Experience building or consuming APIs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Fabric, Data Factory, Copilot or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of data quality and governance principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning or agent-based technologies.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Experience working within manufacturing or operational environments.

Personal Attributes

  • Curious and enthusiastic about technology and continuous learning.
  • Practical problem solver with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong communicator able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, adaptable and keen to drive positive change.
