Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced technology leader with 15+ years of experience in Financial Services who combines deep banking domain expertise with broad technology knowledge across cloud, applications, infrastructure, digital transformation, AI, data, and enterprise platforms.

The individual will act as a trusted advisor to the client and a senior delivery leader across multiple programmes and workstreams. This is not an account management role; rather, the successful candidate will serve as a hands-on delivery assurance and issue resolution leader, providing strategic guidance while being prepared to engage directly with teams to resolve complex delivery challenges.

Key Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience within Banking and Financial Services.

  • Broad exposure across multiple banking domains, such as retail banking, commercial banking, payments, lending, risk, regulatory change, digital transformation, and operations.

  • Strong technology background spanning cloud, application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, data, AI, and modern engineering practices.

  • Experience operating at senior stakeholder and executive levels.

  • Proven ability to lead complex delivery recovery and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Assurance & Quality Reviews

  • Conduct independent reviews of programme and project delivery across client workstreams.

  • Assess solution designs, delivery approaches, execution plans, and implementation progress.

  • Provide constructive challenge, guidance, and recommendations to both client and delivery teams.

  • Identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities before they impact delivery outcomes.

Issue Resolution & Delivery Recovery

  • Act as the senior escalation point for critical delivery issues.

  • Lead structured problem-solving activities when delivery challenges arise.

  • Work directly with technical and business teams to diagnose root causes and define recovery plans.

  • Provide hands-on leadership to drive issues through to resolution and restore delivery confidence.

Strategic Advisory

  • Advise client stakeholders on future technology and transformation challenges.

  • Develop options, recommendations, and strategic roadmaps for complex business and technology decisions.

  • Coordinate subject matter experts across architecture, cloud, engineering, infrastructure, data, AI, and business domains to develop integrated responses and solutions.

Client Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and "delivery fixer" across the client organisation.

  • Build alignment across client and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Bring together the appropriate expertise from across the organisation to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

  • Balance strategic thinking with the ability to engage in detailed delivery and technical discussions when required.

Candidate Profile

  • Credible senior leader with strong banking and technology expertise.

  • Comfortable operating from executive boardrooms through to delivery team workshops.

  • Pragmatic, hands-on, and outcome-focused.

  • Demonstrated experience turning around challenged programmes and leading complex issue resolution.

  • Able to influence without direct authority and drive collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

  • Willing to roll up sleeves and engage deeply with delivery teams to achieve successful outcomes.
