Location: Romsey/Hybrid (2 days per week on-site)
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum + 6% bonus
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing delivery team working on complex, high-impact programmes within the defence and national security sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the successful delivery of innovative technology projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, analysts and technical specialists. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while building trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will be responsible for managing project activities throughout the full life cycle, applying modern project management methodologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of delivery capability across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and resource allocations.
- Manage project delivery to meet agreed cost, quality and timescale objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Produce accurate project reporting, forecasts and performance metrics.
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-up actions.
- Support resource planning and utilisation across project teams.
- Maintain project documentation, governance and configuration control.
- Manage project budgets and support financial tracking and forecasting activities.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Support procurement activities and supplier management where required.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the adoption of project management best practice.
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve successful outcomes.

You will be a proactive and organised Project Manager with strong stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to deliver projects in challenging and dynamic environments.
Essential Skills & Experience- Experience managing projects throughout the full project life cycle.
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience identifying, managing and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering technology, engineering, product development, research or consultancy projects.
- Strong understanding of project governance, reporting and controls.
Qualifications
- APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMI qualification or equivalent (or working towards certification).
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
