Salary: £93 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role
Connex Education is currently looking for SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils within schools across Weston-super-Mare.
This is a fantastic opportunity for caring, reliable and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a meaningful difference in local classrooms. You will support pupils with additional needs, helping them feel included, confident and ready to learn.
Working closely with class teachers, SEND teams and wider school staff, you will provide practical, emotional and educational support to pupils who may need additional guidance throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEND during lessons and structured activities
Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions
Assist children in developing confidence and independence
Encourage positive behaviour and classroom participation
Adapt support techniques to meet individual learning requirements
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND staff
Support children's wellbeing and emotional development
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
SEND experience is advantageous but not essential
Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is beneficial
Caring, patient, and adaptable approach
Excellent communication skills
Passion for supporting young learners
Understanding of safeguarding procedures
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
