Engineer Team Leader
Competitive Salary + Annual Shift Allowance
Shifts rotating every 2 weeks between days and nights

The Engineer Team Leader provides hands-on leadership and technical support to improve asset reliability and support site operations. The role combines shift engineering leadership with practical mechanical and electrical maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient equipment performance.
The role supports the Asset Care Lead and may deputise by supervising shift engineering technicians when required. This is a factory floor and workshop-based role, not office based.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and update CMMS work orders and maintenance activities daily
Carry out and support PPM tasks and report completion to Asset Care Lead
Develop maintenance plans and asset care strategies based on risk assessments
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support KPIs
Lead shift engineering activities in collaboration with production teams
Supervise contractors and manage permits to work where authorised
Support planned shutdowns, overhauls, and maintenance coordination
Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Support training and development of shift engineering team
Ensure compliance with GMP, SHE, and food safety standards
Maintain tools, equipment, and critical site infrastructure
What We're Looking For
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
Hands-on engineering background in manufacturing environment
Good leadership and organisational ability
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Safety focused with IOSH (or equivalent)
Ability to supervise engineers and contractors when required
IT/CMMS competent
Qualifications
Electrical and Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or equivalent)
Manufacturing/production engineering experience essential
FLT licence (desirable)
