Service & Small Works Engineer (Fire & Safety)
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £35,000-£42,000
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (flexibility required),Overtime paid @ 1.5x, On call 1 every 5 weeks, £135 on call allowance with door to door paid @ 1.5x

The Client
Interaction technical has partnered with an established and growing fire and security company. Due to their exponential growth they’re currently looking to onboard a Fire & Security Service Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding on a range of fire alarm and security systems across various client sites. The role also includes completing remedial works, system upgrades, and minor installations to ensure systems remain compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis on fire alarm and security systems
Complete remedial works, upgrades, system additions, and minor modifications
Undertake small works installations, including extensions to existing systems and standalone systems installs
Ensure all work complies with relevant industry regulations and company standards
Maintain accurate and up-to-date service documentation, including certificates, reports, and system records
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support teams to deliver efficient service
Provide professional technical advice and excellent customer service to clients
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in fire and security system service and maintenance
Strong technical knowledge of industry systems
Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
High attention to detail and quality of work
Strong work ethic and reliability
Clear communication skills and customer-focused attitude
Team player with a positive and adaptable approach
Willingness to learn and develop professionally
