Due to an upcoming retirement, we're delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role with real influence across engineering, operations, and continuous improvement.

The Role
As Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of the site's engineering and technical functions, leading teams to ensure all equipment, services, and processes are maintained to the highest standards. This Engineering Manager position combines leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, supporting production to maximise efficiency, quality, and safety performance.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop Engineering and Technical teams via Team Leaders
Oversee maintenance, equipment performance, and site services
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, Lean, process optimisation)
Support production to ensure efficient, high-quality output
Manage workloads and prioritise engineering activities
Work cross-functionally to successfully introduce new products into production
Monitor KPIs and report performance to senior leadership
Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001, BRCGS) and safety regulations
Manage contractors and external suppliers

About You
To succeed as Engineering Manager, you will have:
Proven experience in an engineering leadership role within manufacturing
Strong people management and decision-making skills
Hands-on engineering background (maintenance, equipment, site services)
Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis
Knowledge of ISO standards (BRCGS desirable)
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
A proactive, hands-on leadership style
