Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our team. This is a practical, customer-facing role centred on the manufacture, assembly, and supply of hydraulic hose and fittings to specification. The successful candidate will have a solid working knowledge of hydraulic hose products and assembly techniques, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy depot environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Manufacture and assemble hydraulic hose assemblies to customer specification, including cutting, crimping, and fitting of hoses and end fittings across a range of pressure ratings and standards.

* Identify and select the correct hose, fittings, and adaptors from stock using catalogues, cross-reference guides, and technical knowledge.

* Operate hose crimping machinery safely and accurately, maintaining tooling and dies in good working order.

* Provide counter sales support, advising customers on hose selection, routing, and specifications — in person and over the phone.

* Assist with same-day and emergency breakdown hose replacement, including site visits where required.

* Carry out pressure testing of completed hose assemblies in line with relevant standards and quality procedures.

* Accurately complete job cards, works orders, and delivery documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in hydraulic hose assembly and manufacture, including cutting and crimping.

* Working knowledge of hydraulic hose types, pressure ratings, end fittings, and industry standards (e.g. SAE, DIN, BSP).

* Ability to identify and cross-reference hose and fitting specifications from technical catalogues.

* Experience operating hose crimping equipment.

* Good customer service and communication skills, comfortable in a counter sales environment.

* Methodical approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

* Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills & Experience

* Experience with a hydraulic hose distributor or depot environment.

* Knowledge of hydraulic fittings and adaptors across multiple thread forms (BSP, JIC, ORFS, Metric).

* Familiarity with brands such as Parker, Gates, Manuli, Alfagomma, or Stauff.

* Experience with mobile plant, agricultural, or construction machinery hydraulics.

* NVQ or equivalent qualification in fluid power, engineering, or a related discipline.

* Forklift licence.

* Experience using stock management or ERP systems.

Personal Attributes

* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.

* A team player willing to support colleagues across the depot.

* Customer focused with a professional approach to all stakeholders.

What We Offer

* Permanent, full-time position based at our Grantham depot.

* Supportive team environment with an established and reputable business.

* Opportunity to develop your skills across a broad range of hydraulic applications
