Contract role
We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our R&D and Manufacturing team, supporting incoming materials and production quality activities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with exposure to electronics, manufacturing, quality, and compliance, who is comfortable working cross-functionally and taking ownership of day-to-day quality challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide frontline quality support across Manufacturing and R&D operations
- Perform mechanical, visual, and functional inspections on incoming materials
- Act as the point of contact for incoming material quality issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to conduct dimensional and mechanical inspections
- Execute testing on electronic and mechanical assemblies
- Investigate and resolve issues such as material defects and operator-induced cosmetic issues
- Analyse shop floor data to support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support process quality management, including audits and in-process quality checks (IPQC)
- Contribute to line trials, controlled builds, and quality experiments
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality systems and internal procedures
- Raise and manage quality notifications, deviations, and containment actions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Monitor yields and drive improvements in quality, uptime, and scrap reduction
- Support MRB and RMA processes and overall product quality standards
- Experience in product inspection, root cause analysis, and problem solving
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of electronics and/or mechanical components
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Confident communicator who can take the lead on quality issues
- Competent in data analysis and reporting (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems
- Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to support shift patterns if required
- Level 6 qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline
- 2-4 years' Experience in a manufacturing or quality environment
- Previous quality role Experience is an advantage
