Cilfynydd (with travel from South Wales workshop/fabrication facility)

We’re supporting a major engineering contractor delivering a live grid stability project in Cilfynydd and require a Welding Inspector to oversee quality across both fabrication and site installation phases.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone comfortable working between workshop and live site environments, ensuring consistency from build through to install.
The Role
* Carry out visual weld inspections (VT) across workshop and site
* Ensure compliance with WPS, drawings, and project specs
* Inspect fabrications pre-dispatch and post-installation
* Coordinate / witness NDT activities
* Raise and manage NCRs
* Maintain QA documentation, ITPs and traceability records
* Support site teams under programme pressure
About You
* Proven experience as a Welding Inspector / Fabrication Inspector
* Background in structural steel / heavy fabrication
* Comfortable across workshop + live site environments
* Knowledge of EN 1090, ISO 3834, BS EN welding standards
* CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent) preferred
* Experience with ITPs, weld traceability and QA packs
* Ideally worked on energy, process, or industrial projects
* Happy travelling between fabrication facility and site
Contract Details
* £360 per day (CIS / Ltd)
* Based on 8–10 hour day
Uplifts:
*
Saturday: 1.4x (£504 per day)
*
Sunday: 1.8x (£648 per day)
*
Bank Holidays: 2.0x £720 per day
*
Travel between workshop and site included in day rate
*
