THE BUSINESS

Our client is a well-established engineering company specialising in the repair, refurbishment, and testing of industrial electronic and electrical equipment used across a range of sectors including manufacturing, energy, process industries, offshore operations, and heavy engineering.

The business supports customers where equipment failures can lead to costly downtime, providing specialist repair solutions for both modern and obsolete systems. Their workshop handles a diverse range of equipment, from power electronics and motor control systems through to complex industrial control equipment.

THE ROLE

Diagnose faults on industrial electronic assemblies and electrical systems down to component level
Display good understanding on how components behave, how faults develop and how to read and reason from a diagram
Use a range of diagnostic and test equipment to identify failures and root causes
Carry out soldering and desoldering of both through-hole and surface-mount components
Repair power supplies, motor drives, control systems, and industrial electronic equipment
Test repaired equipment safely and effectively following established procedures
Identify and replace faulty components including semiconductors, capacitors, relays, contactors, and associated circuitry
Carry out fault-finding on electrical control systems and industrial automation equipment
Work on a variety of legacy and unsupported equipment where technical documentation may be limited
Maintain accurate repair records and technical documentation
Support customer deadlines through efficient and high-quality repair work
Follow workshop health, safety, and quality procedures at all times THE PERSON

Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline (HND, C&G, apprenticeship or equivalent)
Strong understanding of electronic and electrical circuit theory principles
Knowledge of SMPS, AC/DC drives, servo systems, PLC-related equipment, or industrial controls
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, PCB layouts and technical documentation
Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment
Logical and methodical approach to fault diagnosis
Practical hands-on attitude with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working on unfamiliar equipment and learning new technologies
Good communication and documentation skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Keen to develop technical skills within an industrial repair environment
Committed to delivering high standards of workmanship and quality TO APPLY
